Amenhotep III was one of Egypt's great pharaohs who ruled about 38 years. He made egypt a prosperous country and extended its influence beyond its borders.
I am not sure if Amenhotep III would have been a successful warrior if there were any wars in Egypt. He ruled Egypt in very peaceful times and was not involoved in any wars except for some minor conflict in Nubia. I think the peace allowed him to focus completely on his interest of building grand structures. But he seemed to have pride in himself, which could be seen in one of his temples where he showed himself as born to the God of Amun. One thing for sure is that he was not given credit for his ability to build friendly relations with other powers in the near east. I believe this allowed Egyptian culture and trade to spread in the near east.
Not many details are known about Amenhotep III's life other than some of the structures he built which are still there in Egypt. The structures certainly point to the grand life that he lived during the most prosperous periods in Egypt.
